Agreed, Dibber. I think the biker community don’t like this film for the same reason the legal and medical community doesn’t like law and hospital dramas. It’s classic style over content and doesn’t, in any real way, represent the realities of what it means to be involved in the life. It’s a firework display of an idea that most people only have a basic understanding of. The whole thing just reeked of Brando and James Dean for me. The Wild One with Brando actually had something to say. This was just concerned with looking good.

i read little Ceasers book some tim,e back..my brothers run with bike crew..no names..im a loner myself but know many good loyal friends who are in different places n times n the love of riding as ive been since the day i learnt t ride a pushbike my father a keen biker all his life an he put me on a mini bike same day an had his friends over...but he had certain rules that do sink into a 3/4 yr old kid instantly ..we were never allowed brakes as he said if you cant stop this without brakes you cant an shouldnt be riding/thats a story for another chapter of my oiwn...lol...who cares...good t see the series...stay free

The one thing they forgot was the motorcycle part and did the usual fantasy love story garbage about the founding of the ……. MC. It’s like going to the zoo to witness wildlife. Hello mate haven’t watched one of your videos in a long while now fell out of love with riding a few years ago after a crash but I’m slowly getting back into it. It’s really interesting hearing other peoples experiences with clubs here in the uk. I’ve never been in a club and don’t think I’d ever want to be but one thing I’ve always wanted to know is how do these clubs find out who there hang arounds and prospects are ? What’s stopping someone coming in as an undercover or like you say with dodgy convictions. It’s always amazed me that people go from strangers to long life friends within a year or so, surely theres not clubs DBS checking potential members and stuff like that? Sorry for the odd question lol I just find it interesting. Ride safe

Hi Dibber, I'm from the club world we are on Facebook so I'll give my tuppence. It was from the girls perspective like Legend was and yes it was a massive puff piece in favour of not making the bikers look bad, in fact it went against the current trend of belittling men and dared to show a bit of testosterone. The early scene of him openly sat outside watching the house to make sure she was safe until he left the house for me was more of a conceptual representation for time rather than meant as reality. In fact there's very little reality in the film, I watched it as a story much like in the vein of old norse stories quite removed from reality and more towards the ethos and mystical viewpoint. It wasn't a documentary, it was a film that for me could have been a lot worse, the acting, I think was great for what it was meant to be, did they 'act' like actual bikers? No. Honestly, I really liked it for what it was and appreciated they didn't make men and especially bikers look bad. With respect that's my take on it.

I had no interest in seeing this and now I'm glad I didn't.

Totally agree. Like you, I streamed it for free. It was a movie for women. That's a massive market btw - if you search Google Books with the simple term "motorcycle" you'll see that it's all content for women. I dislike the way they turned Butler's character into a simp beyond a simp - he actually becomes a puppy at the end, with puppy eyes, having given up bikes! What the hell... Anyway, the movie's point was supposed to bring that picture-book to life, and I thought one thing it did well was communicate the director's DISBELIEF in that woman's story. The journalist character exudes DISBELIEF on purpose. I think DISBELIEF is fair. I wanted to watch it because of the vintage bikes, and they do look cool, but there's no attention paid to them at all. They're just theatrical props.

I wish you had done this review sooner Dib. Myself and the missus went to see this movie a couple weeks ago, we left before the film was even half way through. It's a stinking pile, most boring biker related film ever.

My wife is a huge fan of Tom Hardy but I knew this movie was bad when my daughter asked the wife if she would go and see the movie again with her as she hadn't seen it and the wife flat out said no. The wife said it's the worst Tom Hardy film she's ever seen, my daughter agreed with the wife after going to see it with some of her friends and said she couldn't sit through it a second time.
